OceanFive Records, founded and led by Skylar Ward holding a B.A. Entertainment Music Business, Graphic Design and Communication Degree. Skylar Ward is the visionary founder of OceanFive Records, an independent music label based in Jacksonville, Florida. With a passion for artist empowerment and creative ownership, Skylar has built OceanFive into a launchpad for multidimensional talent blending artist development, sync licensing, and strategic branding into a holistic support system.
In 2015, Skylar began building her catalog through AMillion Magazine, where she interviewed a wide range of rising and established artists—including Young M.A, Flip Dinero, Trap Beckham, Latto, PREME (OVO), Shad Moss, DaBaby, Spotemgottem, and many others. These collaborations opened doors to artists signed with major labels such as Def Jam, Alamo, Island, and Atlantic Records, allowing Skylar to deepen her industry network and sharpen her expertise in Artist Development, Management, Marketing, Rollout Strategy, and A&R.
Positioned as an underdog with a clear vision, Skylar transitioned into an independent role channeling her experience into branding and launching her first record label
Known for a hands-on leadership style and exceptional emotional intelligence, Skylar oversees every facet of the label’s operations from contract design and onboarding to marketing campaigns and team growth. Skylar brings clarity, empathy, and precision to every move redefining what it means to run an artist-first label in today’s music industry.
